Contact / Dublin
Wave Dynamics provides acoustic, noise, vibration, air quality and environmental consultancy from our Santry office, working with developers, design teams and contractors across Dublin and the surrounding counties.
Our Dublin office is at Block 5, 1st Floor, Airvista Office Park, Santry, Dublin 9, D09 A3X2. You can reach the team on +353 (0)1 912 5070 or by email at info@wdacoustics.com.
From Santry we look after projects across Dublin city and county and the neighbouring counties of the east, from city centre hotels and offices to suburban housing schemes, schools, industrial sites and infrastructure. Being close to the M50 and the M1 makes it straightforward to get to sites for surveys, inspections and testing.
The Dublin team covers the full range of Wave Dynamics disciplines, so a single consultant can support a project from planning through to completion:
Dwellings in Dublin must meet Part E of the Building Regulations, with Technical Guidance Document E 2014 (TGD E) setting out how to show compliance for separating walls and floors (Regulation E1) and for reverberation in common areas (Regulation E2). We design constructions to TGD E and carry out pre-completion testing, and our sound insulation testing is SITRI and SITMA certified.
At planning stage, local authorities often ask for a noise impact assessment covering road, rail, Luas or aircraft noise ingress, plant and commercial noise, and the effect of construction on neighbours. Larger schemes may need a noise and vibration chapter within an EIAR. Our reports are written to meet those requests and to stand up to further information queries.
A large share of our Dublin work involves buildings where noisy and quiet uses sit side by side: hotel bedrooms above bars, apartments next to gyms, and offices beside music venues. We set sound insulation targets, specify isolated floors and ceilings, and advise on music limits and operational management so that each use can work without disturbing the other. Examples include gyms such as Flyefit Sandyford and venues such as Flight Club Dublin.
A selection of our work around the city and county:
Dublin sites vary a great deal, from tight city centre plots beside busy streets and late night venues to suburban sites near motorways, rail lines and the airport flight paths. A team based in the city knows these settings and can get to site quickly for a baseline survey, a design team meeting or a test day.
Having design, testing and monitoring under one roof also means fewer hand-overs. The consultant who set your acoustic criteria at planning can follow the project through to the completion tests.
Send us the site address, a short description of the development and any drawings or planning conditions you have. Tell us which stage the project is at and what you need, whether that is a planning report, design input, testing or monitoring. Call +353 (0)1 912 5070 or email info@wdacoustics.com and we will come back to you with a scope and fee.
Yes. Our team carries out airborne and impact sound insulation testing on apartments and houses throughout Dublin to show compliance with TGD E. Our testing is SITRI and SITMA certified.
Yes. We prepare noise impact assessments for planning applications and further information requests, covering transport noise ingress, plant, commercial and entertainment noise, and construction effects. We start with a baseline survey where needed and model the site to set façade and mitigation requirements.
We do. We install and manage monitors for noise, vibration, dust, air quality, cracks and ground movement, and report results against the limits set in planning conditions or the CEMP so the contractor and neighbours have clear information.
The Santry office covers Dublin city and county and the surrounding counties. For projects further afield, our other offices and the wider team can support, so you have one point of contact wherever the site is.
