Expert Climate Assessments for EIAR Across Ireland & the UK
At Wave Dynamics, we provide specialist Climate Assessments for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) to support planning applications for residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy and mixed-use developments across Ireland and the UK. With strategically located offices in Dublin, Wexford, Cork, Belfast and London and a presence in Belfast, our experienced environmental consultants deliver robust climate assessments that help developers, architects, engineers and planning consultants meet evolving planning policy, legislative requirements and environmental best practice.
Our climate specialists assess both the impact of a development on climate through greenhouse gas emissions and the impact of climate change on the development, ensuring projects are designed to be resilient, sustainable and compliant with national and international climate objectives. Every assessment is tailored to the scale and complexity of the proposed development and forms an integral part of a comprehensive EIAR.
Greenhouse Gas & Carbon Assessments
Understanding the potential climate impact of a proposed development is an essential component of the EIAR process. Wave Dynamics undertakes detailed greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon assessments, evaluating emissions generated during construction, operation and, where appropriate, decommissioning.
Our consultants quantify greenhouse gas emissions, assess significance in accordance with recognised guidance and identify practical mitigation measures that support carbon reduction objectives and sustainable project delivery.
Climate Change Risk & Resilience Assessments
Climate resilience is becoming an increasingly important consideration within planning and environmental assessment. Wave Dynamics carries out climate change risk and resilience assessments to evaluate how future climate conditions may affect the proposed development throughout its operational lifetime.
We assess potential risks associated with extreme weather events, flooding, temperature changes, drought, sea level rise and other climate-related hazards, providing practical recommendations that improve resilience, reduce long-term risks and support sustainable infrastructure design.
Climate Assessments for Planning & EIAR
Our Climate Assessments for EIAR are prepared in accordance with current planning legislation, Environmental Impact Assessment requirements and recognised guidance. We work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure climate considerations are fully integrated into the planning process from the earliest project stages.
Our assessments provide planning authorities and key stakeholders with a clear understanding of potential climate impacts, proposed mitigation measures and the long-term sustainability of the development.
A Collaborative Approach
At Wave Dynamics, we recognise that effective climate assessments require close collaboration across multiple disciplines. Our environmental consultants work alongside planners, engineers, architects and project teams to develop practical, proportionate and evidence-based climate strategies that align with project objectives while satisfying planning and environmental requirements.
By integrating climate considerations early in the design process, we help clients reduce environmental risks, strengthen planning applications and deliver developments that are better prepared for future climate challenges.
