Our Flood Risk Assessments are undertaken in accordance with relevant planning policy, guidance and flood risk management principles. We assess the potential sources and pathways of flooding, the vulnerability of the proposed development and the potential impact on surrounding areas, helping project teams make informed decisions at an early stage.
Stage 1 – Flood Risk Identification
Stage 1 provides an initial screening of the site to identify potential sources of flood risk, including fluvial (river), pluvial (surface water), coastal, groundwater and drainage-related flooding. We review available flood mapping, historical information, site characteristics and relevant planning guidance to determine whether the development may be at risk and whether further assessment is required.
Stage 2 – Initial Flood Risk Assessment
Where potential flood risks are identified, a Stage 2 assessment provides a more detailed evaluation of the site and proposed development. This can include assessment of flood zones, site levels, drainage, climate change considerations and the potential impacts of the development on surrounding areas. We provide practical recommendations to inform site layout, design and appropriate flood risk mitigation measures.
Our consultants work closely with the wider project team to ensure flood risk considerations are incorporated into the development process and appropriately addressed as part of the planning application.

Jack is a Field Engineer at Wave Dynamics, supporting the delivery of environmental monitoring and acoustic consultancy services through detailed on-site fieldwork. He has hands-on experience in noise monitoring, vibration monitoring, and dust monitoring across a variety of infrastructure, construction, and environmental projects. Jack is involved in the setup, operation, and maintenance of monitoring equipment, ensuring accurate data collection in line with relevant standards and project requirements. He works closely with consultants and project teams, providing reliable field support that underpins high-quality assessments and reporting.
Aidan is the Director for all U.K Operations and has worked in multiple industries including for clients in the UK and internationally operating in the residential, industry, healthcare, education, and construction sectors.
