Air Quality Screening Assessments
At Wave Dynamics, we provide Air Quality Screening Assessments across Ireland and the UK. With offices in Dublin, Wexford, Cork, Belfast and London, and a strong presence in Galway, we support developers, planners and design teams during the early stages of project planning.
Our screening assessments offer a quick, proportionate and evidence-based evaluation of potential air quality impacts, helping determine whether a more detailed assessment is required and identifying any early constraints that may influence design or planning decisions.
What is an Air Quality Screening Assessment?
An Air Quality Screening Assessment is an early-stage review used to assess whether a proposed development is likely to have significant effects on local air quality.
It provides a high-level evaluation of:
- Potential emissions from the development
- Existing local air quality conditions
- Sensitive human and ecological receptors
- Likely construction and operational impacts
- Relevant planning and policy requirements
This ensures that air quality considerations are identified early in the planning process.
Our Air Quality Screening Services:
We provide practical and proportionate screening support, including:
- Planning application support
- Preliminary air quality assessments
- Identification of sensitive receptors
- Construction and operational impact screening
- Review of baseline air quality conditions
- Planning policy and regulatory compliance reviews
- Technical reporting and recommendations
Benefits of Air Quality Screening Assessments:
- Supports planning applications in Ireland and the UK
- Identifies air quality constraints at an early stage
- Determines whether detailed assessment is required
- Helps streamline the planning and EIA process
- Supports compliance with planning policy and guidance
- Provides clear, concise and defensible reporting
