Light Impact Assessments
At Wave Dynamics, we provide Light Impact Assessments across Ireland and the UK, with offices in Dublin, Wexford, Cork, Belfast and London, and a strong presence in Galway. We help developers, planners and design teams understand and manage the effects of artificial lighting on surrounding receptors.
Our assessments evaluate potential impacts on residential amenity, ecological habitats and the wider environment, supporting planning applications and ensuring lighting schemes are designed in line with best practice and environmental standards.
Light Impact Assessment Services
Artificial lighting can affect nearby properties and sensitive ecological receptors if not properly designed and controlled. Our assessments provide a clear evaluation of lighting impacts and recommend practical mitigation where required.
We provide:
- Residential light spill assessments
- Ecological light spill assessments
- Planning application support
- Lighting design review and mitigation advice
- Post-development compliance assessments
Supporting Planning & Lighting Design
Using recognised methodologies and lighting assessment techniques, we evaluate light spill, glare and potential effects on sensitive receptors.
Our services support:
- Residential developments
- Commercial and mixed-use schemes
- Infrastructure and public realm projects
- Ecological and habitat-sensitive sites
- Planning and environmental assessments
Where necessary, we recommend mitigation measures to reduce light impacts and improve design performance.
