Project Overview
Wave Dynamics, acoustic consultants, recently collaborated with Samcava Limited to undertake a planning stage noise impact assessment for Cookstown House, Tallaght. The project achieved an initial grant of planning in early 2024.
The development is located at the site of Cookstown House on Cookstown Way. The development includes the construction of 40 one-bedroom units, 36 two-bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units. They are to be housed in a building ranging in height from four to seven storeys, while each apartment is provided with private amenity space in the form of a terrace or balcony space.
Wave Dynamics provided the planning stage noise impact assessment, this included a baseline survey on the site. Measurements of noise from the Luas and road noise from Cookstown way, a 3D facade noise model and predictions of the internal and external amenity noise levels. The assessment formed part of the overall acoustic design statement for the site.
