Expert Air Quality Assessments for EIAR Across Ireland & the UK
At Wave Dynamics, we provide specialist Air Quality Assessments for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) to support planning applications for residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, energy and mixed-use developments across Ireland and the UK. With strategically located offices in Dublin, Wexford, Cork, Belfast and London and a presence in Galway, our experienced environmental consultants deliver robust, evidence-based air quality assessments that help developers, architects, engineers and planning consultants meet planning requirements, environmental legislation and best practice guidance.
Our consultants assess the potential effects of proposed developments on local air quality during both the construction and operational phases, providing practical mitigation measures where required. Every assessment is tailored to the specific characteristics of the development and forms an integral part of a comprehensive EIAR, helping clients secure planning consent while protecting human health and the environment.
Air Quality Impact Assessments
A comprehensive Air Quality Impact Assessment evaluates the potential effects of a proposed development on surrounding air quality and sensitive receptors. Wave Dynamics assesses emissions from road traffic, construction activities, industrial processes and operational sources using recognised assessment methodologies and advanced dispersion modelling where required.
Our consultants provide a clear evaluation of predicted air quality impacts, identify appropriate mitigation measures and assess the significance of residual effects in accordance with current Irish, UK and international guidance.
Construction & Operational Air Quality Assessments
Construction activities can generate dust and particulate emissions, while operational developments may introduce additional traffic or process-related emissions. Wave Dynamics assesses both construction and operational air quality impacts to ensure all potential effects are fully considered throughout the planning process.
Our assessments evaluate pollutants including particulate matter (PM₁₀ and PM₂.₅), dust, nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) and other relevant emissions, providing practical recommendations to minimise impacts on nearby residential properties, schools, healthcare facilities and other sensitive receptors.
Air Quality Assessments for Planning & EIAR
Our Air Quality Assessments for EIAR are prepared in accordance with current planning legislation, Environmental Impact Assessment requirements and recognised national and international guidance. We work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate air quality considerations into the design process from the earliest planning stages.
By identifying potential impacts early, our consultants help clients develop practical mitigation strategies, strengthen planning applications and deliver sustainable developments that meet environmental and regulatory requirements.
Air Dispersion Modelling & Mitigation
Where required, Wave Dynamics undertakes detailed air dispersion modelling to predict pollutant concentrations and assess potential impacts on surrounding communities and environmentally sensitive locations. Using recognised modelling software and robust environmental data, we provide accurate predictions that support planning decisions and regulatory compliance.
Our consultants also develop practical mitigation measures, including dust management strategies, construction best practices and operational controls, helping clients reduce environmental impacts and demonstrate responsible development.
