Our Wexford Office
Our South East base is Unit 14 Enterprise Centre, Gorey Business Park, Ramstown, Gorey, Co. Wexford, Y25 Y2C8. Contact the team on +353 (0)1 912 5070 or at info@wdacoustics.com.
Gorey sits on the M11 corridor, which puts Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny and the wider South East within reach. Work in the area includes healthcare buildings, hotels, housing, and solar farms and other energy projects in rural settings.
We work for developers, architects, energy companies, contractors and public bodies, and can help at any stage from early site selection through to completion testing or monitoring during construction.

Local Regulations and Planning
Housing in Wexford and the neighbouring counties is subject to Part E of the Building Regulations. TGD E 2014 is the reference document, and sets minimum airborne and impact sound insulation for separating elements together with reverberation control in common areas. We are SITRI and SITMA certified for the compliance testing that follows construction.
For planning, county councils may look for noise assessments where homes are proposed near the N11, M11 or rail lines, or where new plant, energy or commercial uses are close to houses. Sites beside railways may also need vibration assessment. We measure existing conditions, predict future levels and set out façade, ventilation and other mitigation.
Large energy or infrastructure schemes may require an EIAR, where noise and vibration sit alongside air quality and climate. We can prepare these chapters together so the assessments are consistent.
Healthcare, Hotels and Housing
Primary care centres need consulting and therapy rooms where conversations cannot be overheard, so we specify partitions, doors and background noise levels with speech privacy in mind. For hotels in the region, we balance the needs of bedrooms with bars, function rooms and kitchens, often within older buildings. On new housing, we design separating walls and floors and check the details on site before testing.
Recent Projects in the South East
Examples of our work in the region:
- Arklow LRD, Co. Wicklow: rail noise and vibration assessment, envelope sound insulation and acoustic ventilation strategy.
- Greystones Nursing Home, Co. Wicklow: rail noise and vibration impact assessment and façade specification.
- Garreenleen Solar Farm and Ballyloo Solar Farm, Co. Carlow: baseline surveys, noise modelling and planning assessments.
- Thomastown Primary Care Centre, Co. Kilkenny: building acoustic design and acoustic testing.
- Pembroke Hotel, Kilkenny: planning advice, wall and floor specification and services noise design.
- Fethard Primary Care Centre, Co. Tipperary: speech privacy, façade design and testing.
Why Work With a Local Team
Much of the South East is rural, with quiet night time backgrounds where careful survey work matters. Having staff in Gorey makes it simpler to set up long term loggers, check them during the survey and get to site for inspections and tests.
Clients still get access to specialists across the company, so a project that begins with a planning noise report can move on to design, testing or construction monitoring with the same team.
How to Get a Proposal
Tell us where the site is, what is planned and what you have been asked to provide. Drawings, a site layout or the wording of a planning condition help us scope the work. Call +353 (0)1 912 5070 or email info@wdacoustics.com to request a proposal.
If you are unsure what level of assessment is needed, we can review the request with you first and suggest a proportionate scope.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you carry out noise assessments for solar farms in the South East?
Yes. We have assessed solar farms in Co. Carlow, including baseline noise surveys, 3D operational noise modelling, construction noise predictions and substation noise assessment, to support planning applications to the local authority.
Can you assess rail noise and vibration for a development near the railway?
We measure and assess rail noise and vibration for sites close to the line, as we did at Arklow and Greystones, and then specify façade, glazing and ventilation measures so that internal noise targets can be met in the finished rooms.
Do you offer sound insulation testing in Wexford?
Yes. We test new dwellings in Wexford and surrounding counties to TGD E 2014. Our testing is SITRI and SITMA certified, and we can advise on fixes where a result falls short.
Which counties does the Gorey office cover?
The Gorey office mainly covers Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny and the wider South East. Our Dublin and Cork offices provide extra support when needed, for example on larger surveys, monitoring programmes or EIAR projects.
