Project Overview
Wave Dynamics supported the team for the planning of a major Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) in Arklow, comprising 476 new homes adjacent to an active railway line.
Due to the site’s proximity to rail infrastructure, a detailed noise and vibration assessment was essential to ensure compliance with planning requirements and to protect future residential amenity.
Our team undertook a comprehensive baseline noise and vibration survey, followed by a full assessment of rail noise, ground-borne vibration, and re-radiated noise. Based on this, we developed practical and cost-effective recommendations tailored to the scheme.
Key services included:
- Environmental Noise Impact Assessment
- Rail Noise & Vibration Assessment
- Building Envelope Sound Insulation Design
- Acoustic Ventilation Strategy
Our input ensured that the development achieves appropriate internal noise levels and vibration criteria, supporting planning compliance while maintaining a high-quality living environment.
Wave Dynamics continues to provide acoustic consultancy in Ireland and the UK, specialising in residential developments, infrastructure projects, and complex environmental noise and vibration challenges.
