Project Overview
Wave Dynamics were appointed as the acoustic consultants for the Clonburris Link Street development, where we delivered the Noise and Vibration chapter of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR).
The project required a comprehensive assessment of environmental noise impacts associated with a large-scale urban infrastructure scheme. A key component of our role involved the modelling and assessment of road traffic noise, including the evaluation of existing baseline conditions and the prediction of future operational noise levels along the proposed route.
Using advanced predictive noise modelling techniques, Wave Dynamics assessed the potential impact of road traffic movements on nearby sensitive receptors, including residential properties and local amenities. The assessment considered traffic flow, vehicle composition, road alignment, and propagation characteristics to establish robust noise predictions and inform mitigation strategies.
Our consultancy ensured that the proposed development was assessed in line with relevant Irish and EU guidance, providing clear recommendations to manage and mitigate potential noise impacts through appropriate design and planning measures.
Through our involvement, Wave Dynamics provided a technically robust and planning-compliant EIAR acoustic assessment, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure while protecting the surrounding environment and community.
Jon Maguire (BSc Hons MIOA) brings over 8 years of expertise in acoustic consultancy, specialising in environmental acoustics with a focus on 3D modelling, assessments, and detailed design for industrial, commercial, and energy projects. He has lead noise assessments for key clients while thriving in multidisciplinary environments. Jon’s diplomatic communication skills are ideal for stakeholder consultation.
Jack is a Field Engineer at Wave Dynamics, supporting the delivery of environmental monitoring and acoustic consultancy services through detailed on-site fieldwork. He has hands-on experience in noise monitoring, vibration monitoring, and dust monitoring across a variety of infrastructure, construction, and environmental projects. Jack is involved in the setup, operation, and maintenance of monitoring equipment, ensuring accurate data collection in line with relevant standards and project requirements. He works closely with consultants and project teams, providing reliable field support that underpins high-quality assessments and reporting.
Aidan is the Director for all U.K Operations and has worked in multiple industries including for clients in the UK and internationally operating in the residential, industry, healthcare, education, and construction sectors.
